I can do testing me!

To paraphrase one of my favourite phrases from Brainiac: Science Abuse, I can do testing me.
At the beginning of December I attended a training course in Southampton for the ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst qualification. Two weeks ago I went to London and sat the exam for it.
Yesterday I received an email informing that my test results were ready to be sent out. I just needed to send some evidence to show that I'd met one of the pre-requisites for the course.
Frantically sorting out getting scanned copies of the required documents, which naturally were at home while I was over a 100 miles away, and scanning a copy of my Deed Poll I sent the evidence off and received an email with a link to my results online.

I'm happy to say that, despite feeling a bit unprepared when I sat the exam due to a lack of revision, that I passed with 79 marks out of 100 (65 being the pass mark).

Colour me chuffed to bits!

    1. Thanks Becca.
Not sure whether I'll go for the Expert level just yet, the modules that are available at the moment aren't the ones that would be most useful. I'm trying to find out who does courses in the area that I'm more interested in, and which would be most beneficial to work.

    2. The thing I found is the harder the exams the more writing is required. When I did the Practitioner exams my hand felt like it would fall off - 2 hours solid writing was too much.

      Good luck !

  2. Tell me about it. I've not had to spend that much time writing out anything by hand since I left school.
I came out of the Practitioner Test Manager exam and had to go and find a chemist to by paracetamol and a bottle of water as I had a killer headache at the end.
The ISTQB exams are a lot better as they are multiple choice. At least this time I had a bottle of water and some paracetamol with me in my handbag.

  3. Sadly I failed one of my Practitioners exams, so silly to not have prepared better - at least it was the Managers one I passed.

I greatly admire your attitude to go and get the new exams as well ! You will go far !
